New Addition: Jay Barth

PolySigh is pleased to welcome Jay Barth (author of the previous post) to its ranks. Jay is Associate Professor of Politics and director of civic engagement projects at Hendrix College in Conway, Arkansas. He received his Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1994. In 2000-2001 he received the Steiger Congressional Fellowship from the American Political Science Association and during that year he worked on the staff of U.S. Senator Paul Wellstone were he worked on education and civil rights policy. Jay has published numerous works on Arkansas politics, including co-authoring the most recent edition of Arkansas Politics and Government: Do the People Rule with the late Diane D. Blair. He has also published work on American governors, Southern politics, campaign advertising, race and politics, gender and politics, and gay and lesbian politics. His work is found in such journals as Political Psychology, Polity, Political Behavior, Political Research Quarterly, American Politics Research, Women and Politics, State Politics and Policy Quarterly, and Politics and Policy.
