In fairness to her, neither she nor Bill has had to campaign seriously for the Iowa caucuses. In 1992, Clinton and every other Democratic candidate wrote off the caucuses because Iowa Senator Tom Harkin was assured of victory. In 1996, as the incumbent president, Clinton won the caucuses with no opposition.
