It's Keyes!
The Chicago Sun-Times is reporting that the Illinois Republicans have chosen Alan Keyes as their candidate to run for U.S. Senate. Let the fun begin!

Oh, this is so humiliating. Can the party of Lincoln possibly sink any lower? I've always been a proud Illinoisian, but where do I turn for my state identity now? Certainly not to my transplanted state, SC, which is, on the whole, even more of a national laughingstock, (at least for the moment).
If anyone out there knows of a nice, reasonable, old-style Republican-moderate state still in existence, let me know, and I will sneak over the border some dark night and pretend to be a native. I'm certain that a little work and some language lessons can erase my telltale flat Midwestern accent.
BTW, I am sure that somehow this is all the fault of the Chicago Cubs. I just haven't figured out how to prove the connection yet, but when I do....
