I dont' know that Buchanan's offensiveness was ever directed at a young girl helping out her mother or a basketball team that wasn't bothering anyone. He tends to pick on those his own size as it were. He attacks whole trends in the world. On economics he sounds like Hillary and Obama. His memoir Right from the Begining is a classic of the genre, and I think it shows why, besides the fact that he doesn't single out individuals for cheap shots, why he is still on the air. 1) he is an old Washingtonian and newspaperman and a lot of liberals will never leave him because of that and 2) he is entertaining and fearless advocating positions that are widespread in America but not articulated by the elites.

I wonder that same thing myself everytime I see him on there.
And his offense is in print--I noted a clear example here.
I didn't notice, at first, the link to your piece, which make my link to an example superfluous.
Good piece, BTW.
