As the putative front-runner for the GOP nomination, Rudy Giuliani is running terribly in each of the three early contest states. The
latest poll shows him running fifth in Iowa with only 5%, behind both Fred Thompson, who has mounted a notoriously indifferent campaign, and John McCain, who has essentially given up on the state. Giuliani is
running second in New Hampshire and South Carolina, but the trendline in
both states is clear. I'm beginning to think that Giuliani is the
John Connally of 2008.
