Political Cleavages

In 1970, Douglas Rae and Michael Taylor published The Analysis of Political Cleavages. It was a fine work of theory, but we now know that it was much more. With Nostradamus-like foresight, it predicted a major issue of the 2008 presidential campaign, on both the Republican and Democratic side.
