Small World?

The Weekly Standard has started a new series that proposes to provide a more objective and in-depth analysis of the "surge" plan. Authoring these reports will be Kimberly Kagan:

Kimberly Kagan has posted an excellent analysis of the security situation in Iraq on today's DAILY STANDARD. You can click on the image to download the pdf. Kimberly Kagan is a military historian who has taught at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, Yale University, Georgetown University, and American University. She is a Senior Fellow and Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Center for Peace and Security Studies at Georgetown University, where she teaches the History of Military Operations;an affiliate of the Olin Institute for Strategic Studies at Harvard University; and a visiting fellow at Yale International Security Studies. Bottom line: Kagan knows her stuff, and the report provides the kind of analysis that is so desperately lacking in the mainstream media's "bomb-a-day" coverage.

Kagan? That name rings a bell. Frederick Kagan is one of the authors of the "surge" plan. He's also the brother of neo-conservative intellectual Robert Kagan and the son of Donald Kagan, the Yale professor ancient history and also a prominent neo-conservative. Oddly enough, it turns out that Kimberly Kagan graduated from Yale with a Ph.D. in ancient history.

If Kagan is, in fact, related to the other Kagan's, she hardly seems likely to provide an unbiased account of events in Iraq. Does anyone know if she's a member of the Kagan family?
