The latest Pew survey has more bad news for President Bush. His overall approval rating is down to 36 percent (just 1 point above the much-criticized CBS News poll of last week). Among independents, it's at 29 percent. Pew also includes a nice chart comparing Bush to Nixon, showing that difference between the two is that Bush still continues to get strong approval from Republicans.
Perhaps most worrisome, a plurality of Americans (43 percent) now thinks that the US and Britain lied about WMD claims before the Iraq war.
