Zell Miller

I knew Zell Miller had become disenchanted with the Democrats, but his speech suggests that he's really become unhinged. It's the most strident of any speech at either convention, Sharpton's included. And then there is the comparison with his 1992 DNC speech. If the Democrats have been dangerously weak on defense and foreign policy since 1980, as he now alleges, you never would have known it from that speech.

"Unhinged" is being polite. Self-Righteous, calculated, self-absorbed, attention starved old coock would work as well. My question for Zell is: In 1988 you were state chairman in Georgia to elect Michael Dukakis...Communism was still rampant...the Soviet Union still existed...Do you really think that Michael Dukakis was that much more capable of handeling a serious threat to our nation's security? Answer: OF COURSE YOU DID! That's because you used to be a Democrat.

Senator Miller was dead on target. Only folks that seem unhinged are the libs/dems/press. Senator Miller's views on political parties would have never changed, had he never gone to Washington. He tells a remarkable story of the disconnect between the national democratic party and those in the states, which are decidely more conservative. If you listen to what he says, you will hear the story of dems placing unions over national defense; dems determination to abolish most weapons systems; and dems total disconnect with the American populace. Facts are tough on libs/dems/press.

I'm not sure you've given us "libs/dems/press" any facts to face - just some opinions. But thanks, I'll be sure to re-evaluate my belief system based on your perceptions of it! Meanwhile, let me see if I can scrounge up that quote from Tom Delay regarding Columbine - you must know the one - it's where he says the teaching of evolution is the cause of the killings...very mainstream thinking, right in-line with the rest of the "populace".

Rothko proves my point on "unhinged". Don't be uncertain on my facts, these words came from Senator Miller, last night. You don't have to agree, you don't even need to acknowledge reality. I have never the of Delay's quote you tried to share. I will again point out that libs/dems/press are unable to handle facts. No worries though, it will all be over in a couple of months. You may want to think about 2008 and how to revise reality for Hillary.

It turns out I was wrong. Democrats are unhinged...Check out this fabulous story of how Zell Miller challanged Chris Matthews to a duel. He's still a Democrat so I guess you're right, we're all a little crazy. http://moneycentral.msn.com/content/CNBCTV/Promos/P93599.asp

Whether Delay said something stupid or not is really irrelevant to whether or not Kerry is fit to be president. Maybe you can address the actual allegations. I won't be holding my breath.

Oh, here comes Palooka...spoiling all the fun. I provide evidence that Zell is certifiable and you come back and start talking about Kerry. Read the posts my friend...the whole thread... not a single mention of Kerry until you stopped by and ruined our good time. We were trashing/defending Zell and you had to go bring Kerry into it. You're a real spoil sport pal.

Still I'd love to hear what you guys think about Zell now that he's really jumped the shark...dueling...that brother is positively 19th century...PISTOLS AT DAWN!

I was referring to Zell, specially his comments about Kerry.

The duelling comment was over the top, but it was funny. He gave Matthews some of his own medicine, so I enjoyed it. I've always kind of liked Chris, but he's been a partisan bitch this election cycle.
