SOTUS Ratings

It looks like the American people are ready to move beyond President Bush. The television ratings for his SOTUS speech were the lowest in history. In 1997, 27 million Americans watched Bill Clinton's SOTUS, compared to only 24.6 million for President Bush this year. After peaking in 2003 in the run-up to the Gulf War, Bush's SOTUS rankings have declined steeply.

Of course, sometimes a good quote sums things up more than all the numbers in the world:
"If there's something more interesting, I'll watch that instead," said Phyllis Path, 81, of Marysville. "Like skating."
